Commissioner William H. Cooper reported on the status <br />of the ambulance service and of the efforts to secure matching <br />funds for an additional ambulance unit. <br />Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers reported on his efforts <br />to sell the surplus County vehicles and advised the Board of his <br />plans to hold an auction sale. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker reported to the Board that the <br />Public Works Department of the City of Sanford was installing the <br />curb and guttering around the county's property near the Courthouse. <br />Mr. Hugh Brewer, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, <br />appeared before the Board and reported on the renovation work at <br />the County Office Building. Upon motion of Commissioner F. Wicker, <br />seconded by Commissioner Nilliam H. Cooper, and unanimously <br />adopted upon a vote, it was resolved to authorize the taking of <br />bids for carpet to be installed in the County Office Building in <br />accordance with specifications to be obtained from Pate & Mullins, <br />Architects. <br />Representatives of Pate & Mullins, Architects, appeared <br />before the Board and submitted the plans for the addition to the <br />Public Health Building on Woodland Avenue. The plans were reviewed <br />by the architects. Upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, seconded <br />by Commissioner Hancock, and unanimously adopted upon a vote, it <br />was resolved to authorize the architects to take bids on the project <br />at the next meeting of the Board. <br />Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers reported on the activities <br />concerning the School Bond Drive. <br />There being no further business to come before the <br />session, it was adjourned sine die. <br />GORDON A.
