BOOK R fr c
13
r
Mr. Gordon Wicker
S
16 November 1973
and local governments. Funds are not required until bids are received but
must be deposited with the State Treasurer prior to award of contracts.
The present estimated cost of the project is $350,000 making the local
share approximately $43,750.
c. Utilities: Public utilities (water and sewer) must be furnished
to the project site at no cost to the State or Federal Government.
In addition to providing approximately 12~ per cent of the construction
cost, the State's responsibility includes furnishing architectural and
engineering services and supporting the cost of maintenance and repairs
after the facility is occupied.
To take advantage of possible opportunities to speed the project, we
encourage you to take the necessary steps to arrange for acquisition of a
site. The State must hold title to the property in order for us to request
the National Guard Bureau to include the project in their construction
program. A letter of intent to provide the local share of construction funds
should also be submitted for our files.
We appreciate the local interest in the National Guard and our construction
program. A new armory facility will not only benefit the National Guard
unit but will be a definite asset to the entire community. Do not hesitate
to contact our office if we can be of any assistance to you in your planning.
Very truly yours,
TERT aMCP;HAUL., J
Chief, Engr 6 Fac iv
t
~t
Il 4
v
tp: -
t
