MINUTES OF'THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS , FOR THE COUNTY.OF LEE, NORTH .CAROLINA Monday, February 1974 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee .County., North Carolina.;:convened 'in the Commissioner's. Room on the second,floor of the County.Office Building at the corner of.Steele and Wicker Streets in the' City.of Sanford at 9.:.30.o! clock a. m. on Monday, February 4, 1974.. Those present were Commissioners William H.. Cooper, Hal L. Hancock, J. Eugene Rogers, Franklin D. Wicker,.and Gordon A. Wicker: 'None of the 'Commiss'ioners were.absent..' The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting opened for the'`transaction of business. Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the. following business was transacted: The invocation'was given by. Reverend,Howard Smith, _ Pastor of the Jonesboro Presbyterian: Church. The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, January 21, 1974, were preserited.to;the.Board'and reviewed. The minutes were amended and as-amended were ' approved and ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner Franklin Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, which motion was unanimously adopted. The written request 'of.Mr.' Robert Dewey Rogers, for refund of $11.77 was presented to the Board. 'The request had been investigated by. -the, Tax Supervisor. and it . appeared that, through 'error, Mr. Rogers` automobile had been double listed and that the refund was in order..' Co'mmissi'oner William-H. Cooper moved that.the Tax Collector be authorized and directed to refund to Mr. Robert Dewey Rogers the-sum of $15.77. Commissioner J.'Eugene . Rogers seconded the motion and upon a roll 'call vote, Messrs:, Cooper., Hancock, Rogers, F. Wicker, and'G.. Wicker all voted for it and no one. voted against it. Mr. L. F. Meador, Chairman.of the Lee.County Planning Board, Mr. Cecil 'Cameron, Secretary to.the Planning Board,. and Mr. John A. Berndt; from the Department of Local Affairs, Division of Community Planning,..appeared before the Board and reported that the Planning Board had unanimously voted to ask the. Board of Commissioners to adopt th'e.N..-C. Building Code,. Volume.l,: Volume 1-B, Volume 2,, Volume 3,. National Electric Code, 1971 Edition and all amendments. The Planning Board also recommended that the County provide 'a countywide'soil survey:. After a lengthy discussion, the Board agreed to take:the.'Planning Board's.request under advisement.
