BK - 00026 PG:0917 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />AUGUST 11, 2014 <br />The special called meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, First Floor, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy <br />M. Dalrymple, Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Charles T. Parks, and Kirk D. Smith. Commissioners Dr. Andre <br />Knecht, Robert T. Reives, and James K. Womack were absent. <br />Chairman Parks called the special meeting to order and the following business was transacted: <br />Chairman Parks delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />The Board considered a Resolution requesting formal acceptance of the Clyde Rhyne Road <br />Extension (SR 1476) to the State DOT System. A Resolution is needed so DOT can approve and <br />move the project along. County Manager John Crumpton stated the road is 100% complete but can't <br />be opened for traffic until DOT approves and traffic can be regulated. It was noted that all asphalt <br />testing has been completed and DOT is working to finalize specifications. After discussion, <br />Commissioner Smith moved to approve a Resolution to Add Clyde Rhyne Road Extension (SR 1476) to <br />the State DOT System, a copy of which is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part <br />hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Parks, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Knecht, Reives, and Womack <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />With no other business to come before the Board, Commissioner Smith moved to recess <br />(adjourn) the meeting until 6 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Parks, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />Absent; Knecht, Reives, and Womack <br />
