BK 00026 PG Office of the Sheriff of Harnett County ShvilfLairyRG" Agreement between Harnett County SherilWs Office. and Lee Co"lly Sheriff's Office The Harnett County Sheriffs Office shall accept and provide secure custody, safekeeping, housing, subsistence and care of Lee County Sheriffs Office detainees in accordance with all state and local laws, standards, regulations, policies and court orders applicable to the operation of the facility. The Harnett Canny Sheriffs Office shall provide the Lee County Sheriffs Office detainees with a full range of medical care inside the detention facility. The level of care inside the facility should be the same as provided to state and local detainees. Harnett County Sheriffs Office is financially responsible for all the medical care _ provided by Harnett County Sheriffs Office staff inside the facility. This includes the cost of all medical, dental, and mental health care as well as the coat of medical supplies, over the counter prescriptions. The cost of all the above referenced medical care is covered by the Lee County per diem rate. Any cost of medical or dental services provided by other outside sources will be billed directly to the Lee County Sheriffs Office Lee County Sheriffs Office is financially responsible for all medical care provided outside the facility. All- outside medical care provided to Lee County detainees must be pre - approved by the Lee County Sheriff's Office. In the event of an emergency, Harnett County shall proceed immediately with necessary medical treatment. In such an event, Harnett County shall notify Lee County. Sheriff s Office regarduig the nature ofthe detainee's illness or injury as well as the, types of treatment provided. When a Lee County detainee is being transferred and/or released from the facility, they will be provided with three days of prescription medication which will be dispensed from the facility. Medical records must travel with the detainee. Lee County Sheriff's Office shall provide transportation of detainee to and from the Harnett County Detention Center. Harnett County Sheriff's Office agrees, subject to the availability of its personnel, to t .lprqvide trwnsportation and escort guard service for Lee County detainees housed at the Herne# County Sheriffs Office Detention Center to and from. medical facilities for outpatient care. Harnett County Sheriffs 08'ice shall °,Provide transportation and escort guard service for Lee County detainees housed at the Harnett County Sheriffs .Office Detention Center to a medical facility and will provide stationary guard services for Lee County. :
