BK - 00026 PG <br />LEE COUNTY <br />_ 17.1XIM il 1_ f _ <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />August 4, 2014 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, First Floor, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were <br />Amy M. Dalrymple, Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. Andre Knecht, Charles T. Parks, Kirk D. Smith, and <br />James K. Womack. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent at the beginning of the meeting, <br />but arrived later. <br />Emily Braren from the Lee County Young Commissioners Leadership Program called the <br />meeting to order. <br />Joseph Tozzi from the Lee County Young Commissioners Leadership Program delivered <br />the invocation. <br />Daniela Martinez from the Lee County Young Commissioners Leadership Program led the <br />pledge of allegiance. <br />At this time 4 -H Agent Bill Stone provided an overview of the Lee County Young <br />Commissioners Program, an intensive two -week youth leadership program comprised of nine <br />youth from Lee County. The program kicked off Monday July 28th and will run through Friday <br />August 8th. During the two -week program, under the commissioner's mentorship, participants <br />gain valuable leadership skills through hands -on workshops and training while also developing a <br />greater awareness and understanding of local government and relevant issues facing their <br />community. Ginevra Walker, a participant in the program, gave an overview of the first week and <br />invited the Commissioners to attend the program's closing dinner at Carolina Trace Country Club <br />on August 7, 2014. The Young Commissioners then introduced themselves and a group picture <br />was made, along with County Commissioners. <br />The Board considered additions /changes to the Agenda. Chairman Parks added an <br />additional item, Data Storage Maintenance Agreements, as the third item under new business. <br />With no other changes, Commissioner Womack moved to approve the agenda as amended. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />
