01.6 <br />• Expenditure Reductions: <br />• Reduce Lee County School's current expense appropriation by <br />$67,303; <br />• Reduce Health Department vehicle appropriation by $30,000 <br />(for two vehicles); <br />• Reduce Jail salaries by $5,918 for Pay for Performance <br />adjustment, <br />• Reduce Sandhills Mental Health appropriation by $2,000; <br />• Reduce IT Department by $50,625 to remove IT Support <br />Analyst position originally recommended; and <br />• Remove $31,620 for Pay for Performance Program. <br />Total expenditure reductions amount to $187,466.00. <br />FY 2007-08 Budget Items for Consideration: <br />Commissioner Reives joined the meeting at this time. <br />Revenue Increases: <br />• Increase Fund Balance Appropriated by $28,840 for vehicle for <br />• Crime Scene Investigator position <br />• Transfer the purchase of three Sheriff patrol cars ($67,440) from <br />operational funding to funding from Fund Balance Appropriated. <br />Expenditure Reductions: <br />• Reduce funding for Tax Consulting services by $17,541 <br />• Reduce IT Department by $14,232 and fund the secondary <br />storage network <br />• Reduce funding for generator quick connects in Emergency <br />Management by $15,000. <br />Commissioner Shook proposed a method to hire four (4) deputies (as <br />requested by Sheriff Tracy Carter) with two beginning work on October 1, 2007, <br />and two on April 1, 2008. Commissioner Reives said the proposal would not <br />work unless money could be found to pay for two extra patrol cars and <br />computers the deputies would need. Concerns were also expressed by <br />Commissioner Shook to the $2,000 additional appropriation to Johnston-Lee- <br />Harnett Community Action. Commissioner Smith asked questions pertaining to <br />fraud programs at the Department of Social Service and related budget <br />matters. Social Services Director Brenda Potts was present and answered <br />questions. <br />0 <br />
