j! .f rl <br />® LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Torn <br />or <br />MINUTES OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />APRIL 16, 2007 <br />The Finance Committee meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 5:00 p.m. in the Small <br />Conference Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, <br />North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting, on said date. <br />Committee members present included Robert H. Brown, James C. Kelly, and <br />Robert T. Reives. Interim County Manager Lisa Minter and Clerk to the Board <br />S Gaynell Lee were also present <br />Finance Committee Chairman Robert Reives called the meeting to order. <br />Ms. Minter discussed the Board of Education's Capital Improvement <br />Program (CIP) request along with other county requests. <br />After discussion, the Finance Committee discussed and recommended the <br />following: <br />• Lee County Industrial Park - move the $587,490 requested in FY <br />2007-08 to FY 2008-09 and obtain more information from the <br />Economic Development Office as to their request; <br />• San-Lee Park Dam - reduce the amount for FY 2007-08 from <br />$949,068 to $500,000. Also find out what steps can be taken in <br />the coming year to ensure that fines are not imposed on the <br />County. <br />• Financial Policy - add a statement in reference to positions that <br />are created and funded with grant money that if the grant runs out <br />the position is no longer funded unless funds can be appropriated, <br />from that department, to cover the position in question; <br />• New Positions Requested - discussed, but no recommendation <br />® submitted at this time (18 new requested positions); <br />
