LEE COUNTY ' t <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />PAY FOR PERFORMANCE POLICY <br />Lee County hereby establishes a policy for providing an opportunity for employees to earn an <br />annual salary increase based on performance. The employee's pay for performance salary increase <br />Nvill be based on criteria set forth in their performance plan. This policy is applied on a year to <br />year basis. The Board of County Commissioners maintains the right to make amendments, <br />adjustments and changes subject to the annual budget and availability of funds. <br />All benefited employees are required to have a performance evaluation completed by their supervisor <br />during the month of October of each year to determine if the employee is meeting the requirements of <br />the position. Employees must meet the requirements of the position to remain employed by Lee <br />County. Employees who are not meeting requirements of the position in October of each year will be <br />verbally counseled. The employee will not be allowed to complete a Pay for Performance Plan for an <br />O increase,. however, the employee's performance will be evaluated at each of the required performance <br />meetings tlu'oughout the year. Employees with unsatisfactory performance will be disciplined according <br />to Personnel Policy 1-I-1 (Disciplinary Action). <br />All employees who meet the basic requirements of the job, as outlined in the job description and by <br />Supervisors, are eligible to choose the category of performance. There are four categories of <br />performance: Does Not Meet Requirements, Meets Requirements, Exceeds Requirements, and <br />Outstanding. Each category of performance is defined according to the "Lee County Employee <br />Performance & Development Countywide Performance Standards" and is subject to change as <br />circumstances warrant. <br />Meets Requirements <br />If the employee chooses to meet the requirements of the position as determined by the supervisors, the <br />employee shall check the section to indicate "Meets Requirements of Position" on the Employee <br />Performance Plan. The employee must be meeting the requirements of the position continuously <br />throughout the year. Employees' performance will be evaluated by the Supervisor at mid-year review and <br />the final review. <br />Exceeds Requirements (must be meeting requirements to pursue exceeds requirements) <br />Employees who choose to pursue an Exceeds Requirements Plan in order to receive a performance-based <br />increase in the following year shall check the section to indicate "Exceeds the Requirements of Position." <br />® The employee must list action steps and accountability/documentation that will show how they plan to <br />exceed the requirements of the position. Employees' performance and progress will be evaluated by the <br />supervisor at the mid-year review and final review. <br />
