I. <br />MEETING DATE: April 16, 2007 <br />MEMO TO COMMISSIONERS: <br />FROM: Gaynell Lee, Clerk to the Board <br />DATE: April 9, 2007 <br />SUBJECT: Lease Agreement for Probation & Parole Office <br />EXPLANATION: <br />® The Department of Correction is asking for the renewal of a three-year lease with the County of <br />Lee for office space for the Probation and Parole Office located at the old Lee County <br />Courthouse. The current lease will terminate on August 31, 2007, and it is requested the lease <br />be renewed at the current rate of $12.00 per square foot. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle has <br />verified that the square footage rate is in line with other rental property. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve three-year renewal agreement with the Department of Correction for office space for <br />the Probation and Parole Office located at the old Lee County Courthouse. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />- March 19, 2007 letter from Ron Moore, NC Department of Correction <br />- Form PO-28 "Proposal to Lease to the State of North Carolina" <br />- W-9 Form -'Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification" <br />E <br />
