9("
0
E_ ADMINISTRATION AND STAFFING
If you agree to a contract, SHP will establish a management organization for the
specific purpose of operating the health care program for the Lee County Jail_
A full-time RN nurse administrator will serve as the primary liaison between our
company and the Lee County Jail administrative staff and the Sheriffs Office.
The administrator will coordinate the delivery of health care services within the
facilities. This nurse will be on site 40 hours each week, working an average of 8
hours on each weekday, excluding holidays. This administrator will prepare all
medications to be passed out to inmates by the officers, conduct regular nurse
sick call sessions, and perform histories and physical exams on all inmates in the
jail for 14 days. A nurse_ would also be in the iail on weekends and holidays for
three hours each day.
The nurses would be on-call to render advice by phone and would review all
• intake screening forms on the next workday.
We will have a physician or physician assistant in the jail each week to see those
inmates that have been referred through the triage process. The triage activities
will allow the nurse to treat most complaints without the direct intervention of the
physician by using protocols set by the physician.
Each member of our health care staff at the jails will be properly licensed and
new employees will receive appropriate orientation and training before assuming
duties within the jail.
The SHP nurse administrator will be on-call at all times to work with the officers
by phone to address any urgent needs that arise. And the physician is available
to the nurse by telephone at all times.
We would be pleased to discuss with you our thoughts and rationale relative to
our staffing proposal and make any adjustments as may be mutually agreeable.
0
