SMITHERA <br />510 Summitt Drive • Sanford, North Carolina 27330 • 919.718.1373 home • 919.356.7933 mobile <br />REVISED <br />Mr. Bob Brown, Chairman <br />Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />Post Office Box 1968 <br />Sanford, North Carolina 27331 <br />Dear Chairman Brown: <br />March 12, 2007 <br />Per our conversation this morning, please find provided herewith a letter of amendment to <br />the terms of my resignation as County Manager of Lee County. <br />It is understood that service as County Manager will end at the close of business <br />Wednesday, March 14, 2007 and that I shall be reassigned to the position of Administrative <br />Consultant until April 24, 2007. During this term I will be available to provide service to the <br />County's administrative staff on an as needed basis. In exchange for said service, the <br />current employment agreement shall remain in effect; I will continue to be due and receive <br />all compensation and benefits as outlined in the employment agreement. It is mutually <br />agreed that this reassignment shall not affect the integrity of the employment agreement <br />other than the change of title and responsibilities. Additionally, the Board of Commissioners <br />shall repeal Section 6. (Outside Activities) of the employment agreement dated June 30, <br />2004. <br />It is understood that this matter will be considered and approved by the Board of <br />Commissioners as soon as possible. <br />Si ely <br />avi .
