• <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COMPOSITION <br />OF THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW <br />AND <br />MAKING APPOINTMENTS THERETO <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners appointed a special Board of <br />Equalization and Review pursuit to North Carolina General Statute §105-322 on <br />February 21, 2005, and it is presently functioning, and <br />WHEREAS, the one-year term of Johnnie Mack Burns expired and rather <br />than a three-year appointment he requested a one-year appointment and that <br />one year appointment was made but is now expiring and an appointment should <br />be made for the remaining two-years of that term; and <br />WHEREAS, the initial two-year terms of Angela Martin-McLeod and Jack <br />McNeill are expiring and appointments need to be made for these positions; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Equalization and Review has requested that the <br />number of alternate members be increased to a total of five (5) alternate <br />members rather than the two (2) that are presently serving and an additional <br />three (3) appointments should be made if this amendment is adopted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />as follows: <br />Section 1: Johnnie Mack Burns is reappointed as a member of the <br />Board of Equalization and Review for a term to expire on <br />February 28, 2009. <br />Section 2: Angela Martin-McLeod and Jack McNeill are reappointed as <br />members of the Board of Equalization and Review for terms <br />expiring on February 28, 2010. <br />Section 3: That the provision for alternate members as set out in the <br />Resolution Appointing the Special Board of Equalization and <br />Review be amended to provide for five (5) alternate <br />members rather than two (2) alternate members as it <br />presently reads. <br />0 <br />
