II. Promotion of Lee County <br />Goal: Promote Lee County (internally and externally) for locating industry and <br />business and mixed use development. <br />Actions: <br />a. Develop promotional materials in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce <br />and other relevant agencies. <br />b. Develop and implement a marketing plan that includes selective advertising and <br />attendance at relevant industrial trade shows and events. <br />c. Maintain a productive working relationship with the North Carolina Department of <br />Commerce, industrial location consulting specialists, and other economic <br />development allies. <br />d. Participate in RTRP (Research Triangle Regional Partnership) marketing efforts. <br />e. Increase visibility of EDC locally. <br />® f. Implement a headquarters visitation program. <br />III. Organization <br />Goal: Provide an organization structure that is flexible, efficient, and <br />responsive to the economic growth of Lee County. <br />Actions: <br />a. Operate with a balanced budget with adequate reserves to ensure a competent <br />staff that is responsive to the objectives of the EDC. <br />b. Provide information on EDC activities to allow members to update their <br />appointing boards. <br />c. Study the impact of existing and proposed State and Federal regulations and <br />develop a plan to influence those government bodies to enact legislation that <br />most effectively protects and enhances the power and authority of the Lee <br />County Economic Development Corporation. <br />d. Maintain a productive working relationship with the Chamber of Commerce and <br />the Committee of 100. <br />e. Organize the EDC to optimize effectiveness in achieving the approved goals and <br />actions by implementing this strategic plan and conducting periodic evaluations. <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
