B K 00026 PG <br />Executive Summary <br />The Lee County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC), in fulfillment of the duties and <br />responsibilities as set forth in the General Statutes of the State of North Carolina, has reviewed <br />and updated the County Plan for FY 2014 -2015. <br />The JCPC has identified the issues and factors which have an influence and impact upon <br />delinquent youth, at -risk youth, and their families in Lee County. Further, the JCPC has <br />identified the strategies and services most likely to reduce /prevent delinquent behavior. <br />JCPC Action Plan Progress: <br />1. To reduce alcohol and substance abuse/use <br />2. To reduce subsequent complaints <br />3. To reduce violations community supervision <br />4. To reduce subsequent convictions <br />5. To fulfill restitution contracts to victims <br />6. To increase parental accountability <br />Priorities for Funding: Through a risk & needs assessment and a resource assessment, the JCPC <br />has determined that the following services are needed to reduce /prevent delinquency Lee <br />County. <br />1. Restitution/Community Service <br />2. Temporary Shelter Care <br />3. Psychological Assessments <br />4. Sex Offender Treatment <br />5. Structure Day/Day Reporting <br />6. Interpersonal Skill Building Program <br />7. Parenting/Family Skills <br />8. Mentoring <br />9. Tutoring/Academic Enhancement <br />Monitoring and Evaluation The Lee County Youth and Family Services Restitution and <br />Community Service program a previously funded program were monitored by the JCPC on <br />January 22, 2014 and recommendations were approved by the JCPC at the February 24, 2014 <br />JCPC meeting. There were two newly funded programs this fiscal year (2013 - 2014), Hope - <br />Thru- Horses - Kickin Back Interpersonal Skill Building Program and the Road to Success <br />Mentoring Program. These programs were approved for funding by NCDPS - Division of Adult <br />Convection and Juvenile Justice in January 2014. These programs were monitored by the JCPC <br />on March 31, 2014 and recommendations were approved by the JCPC at the March 31, 2014 <br />JCPC meeting. The monitoring results and program outcomes evaluations were considered in <br />making funding allocation decisions. The JCPC continues to conduct implementation <br />monitoring of its action plan and its funded programs on an annual basis.
