BOY 8 FAer 385 WHEREAS, the Board of County. Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added. to the Secondary.Road System, if the road meets. minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for the addition of roads to. the System. NOW,.THEREFORE, be.it resolved by the Board of County. Commissioners of the County. of Lee.that the Division of Highways is hereby- requested to. review. :the above described road, and to.take over the road for maintenance if it meets.established standards and criteria. Commissioner: Hal L. Hancock seconded the motion and upon a vote,: it was unanimously adopted. The Chairman announced that the Human.Relations Council's.office was open and that secretarial help was being furnished by a man-power.student.:. Upon motion of Commissioner. J. Eugene Rogers, seconded by. Commissioner.William H. Cooper, it.was. unanimously resolved to. designate..Chairman Gordon A. Wicker. to.be-.the'. voting delegate.to the 67th Annual Convention 'of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners and Affiliates. with,full power. and authority. to..designate.his.successor in the event.he..could not attend the convention. Upon motion-of Commissioner. Hal L.: Hancock,. seconded by: Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker., it.was unanimously resolved to set. the. compensation of the members of the Lee.County. Planning Commission at'$10.:00'per meeting for not more than one meeting per, month. . Upon motion of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker., seconded by. Commissioner William H. Cooper., it was unanimously resolved .to. give notice of a public hearing on the advisability. of enacting the technical ordinance to adopt . the-state building code or a general ordinance setting forth a building code :to.be applicable in Lee County for August 19th or as soon thereafter as proper.noti.ce may be. given. Upon motion of Commissioner.Franklin D. Wicker duly seconded, it was unanimously resolved to authorize the . preparation of specifications.for the purchase of seats,for the jurors in the main courtroom of the Lee County. Courthouse. The Board then proceeded to open bids received, for theater seats.to be.installed within the rail of the main.courtroom of the'Lee. County Courthouse. The low bid was for $974.84.. Upon motion of Commissioner. William H. Cooper-seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, it was unanimously resolved to accept :the low bid and the work authorized, same .to be. paid,from the appropriations.for the Courthouse.. . The :Chairman announced to the Board that they.had been invited to.a watermelon cutting on Monday, August 19,. 19,74,: at the :Courthouse Annex between the hours of. 3:00.p.m. to.5:00.'p.m:.by. the Agricultural 'Extension Department. .
