The Board designated Chairman Gordon A. Wicker to <br />be its.voting delegate at the meeting of North Carolina <br />Association of County-Commissioners to schedule and discuss <br />its legislative program.-',. Chairman Wicker was authorized to <br />designate an alternate delegate. <br />q <br />Chairman L. F. Meadow of,the Lee County Planning Board <br />appeared before.the Board and invited them to send one member to <br />meet with the Planning Board at its regular meeting on the <br />second Wednesday•in,each month at 7:30 O'clock P. M. <br />The Board resolved to take action on its consideration <br />of a building code and inspection program on its next regular <br />meeting,on October 21st, `1974. The Clerk was directed to advise <br />the Secretary of-the Home Builders Association of Sanford area. <br />Messrs. Cecil Budd, H. H. Jordan, and William F. Rosser <br />of the Department of Transportation appeared before the Board <br />and discussed the Secondary Road improvement program for Lee <br />County for 1974-1975. After ,a discussion and review, Commissioner <br />Cooper moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, funds will be available for <br />secondary;-roads improvement in Lee County <br />during 1974-1975 as follows,: <br />Initial Allocation <br />Supplemental Allocation <br />Sub-Total <br />Less 10% Retainage <br />To be Allocated <br />$ 41,691.00 <br />7,273.00 <br />$ 48.964.00 <br />4,896.00 <br />$ 44,068.00; and <br />WHEREAS, a sufficient-number of projects <br />should be'approved to insure full utilization of <br />the available funds in the event right-of-way <br />difficulties are encountered on any of the roads; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board <br />of Commissioners for Lee County that the following. <br />projects be approved as, the Secondary Road Improvement <br />Program, namely: <br />1. County wide surveys, plans and <br />R. W. signature for secondary <br />roads. (Blanket work orders for <br />road additions, tentative <br />improvement projects, etc.) $ 1,500.00 <br />2. Project 6.542156-SR 1140 From: <br />SR. 1144 to NC 87 - 1.3 miles <br />Increased funding due to weather <br />during construction, materials <br />encountered in grading, etc. <br />Initial Funds $30,000.00 <br />Increase work order funds by $ 10,000.00 <br />3. Spot improvements on school <br />bus.routes where safety problems <br />exist. Grading, stabilization, etc. <br />Funding: $ 7,500.00 <br />-3- <br />
