C. <br />Information <br />Meeting Date: November 2, 2009 _ Action Item <br />XX Consent Agenda <br />• <br />SUBJECT: Bad Debt Write-Off in the Health Department <br />DEPARTMENT: Public Health Department <br />CONTACT PERSON: Howard Surface, Health Director <br />REQUEST: To approve the write-off of FY 2007-08 bad debts in the Lee County <br />Health Department <br />SUMMARY: The state requires that effort is made to collect revenues owed to <br />the Health Department and write-off those debts that are unable to <br />be collected. The Health Department has $25,339.19 in uncollected <br />debt from various programs for FY 2007-08. The Board of Health <br />approved the acceptance of the bad debt write-off at their October <br />14, 2009 meeting and has forwarded the request to the <br />Commissioners for final approval. <br />BUDGET IMPACT: Funding stipulation for state and federal programs <br />ATTACHMENT(S): List of programs and debt amounts uncollected <br />PUBLIC HEARING: No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve bad debt write-off from the Health Department as <br />presented for FY 2007-08. <br />0 <br />
