The County Attorney was instructed to prepare a mass gathering ordinance for consideration by the Board., • ' Commissioner William H. 'Cooper moved that the County Planning Board take applications for the position of Building Inspector and for it to screen and review such applications and present to the Board its recommendations. Comm- issioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. The Chairman reminded the members of the Board that the NACO Convention would be held in Hawaii and any who planned to attend should make reservations: It was reported that the-Election Board needed a filing cabinet. The Board authorized the purchase of'any needed office equipment. Commissioner William H. Cooper reported that the grant for the modular ambulance had been approved. The Chairman reported a letter had been received from the Department of Natural and Economic Resources about planning services. After discussion this matter was referred to Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock reported on complaints received about the landfill operations which he had investigated and found to be without merit. HB 274 and SB 210 which would increase the State appropriation from $1, 000. 00 to $2,,00.0. 00, for Veteran Services were considered by the Board. Commissioner Franklin D.. Wicker'moved that the Board go on record as favoring the;enactment of said bills. Commissioner'William H, Cooper seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock reported the Allis Chalmers tractor had burst a piston and had been sent for repairs.
