The County Attorney was instructed to prepare a mass gathering <br />ordinance for consideration by the Board., • ' <br />Commissioner William H. 'Cooper moved that the County Planning <br />Board take applications for the position of Building Inspector and for it to screen and <br />review such applications and present to the Board its recommendations. Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The Chairman reminded the members of the Board that the <br />NACO Convention would be held in Hawaii and any who planned to attend should <br />make reservations: <br />It was reported that the-Election Board needed a filing cabinet. <br />The Board authorized the purchase of'any needed office equipment. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper reported that the grant for <br />the modular ambulance had been approved. <br />The Chairman reported a letter had been received from the <br />Department of Natural and Economic Resources about planning services. After <br />discussion this matter was referred to Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker. <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock reported on complaints received <br />about the landfill operations which he had investigated and found to be without <br />merit. <br />HB 274 and SB 210 which would increase the State appropriation <br />from $1, 000. 00 to $2,,00.0. 00, for Veteran Services were considered by the Board. <br />Commissioner Franklin D.. Wicker'moved that the Board go on record as favoring <br />the;enactment of said bills. Commissioner'William H, Cooper seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Hal L.
