BODY ~ PdCE`$J~ <br />WHEREAS: Father's Day, June 15, <br />1975,, is an appropriate time to honor the beef <br />industry and its contribution to the, strength and wet- <br />fare of our great state and nation: <br />NOW THEREFORE,. THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, DO' HEREBY <br />PROCLAIM THE USE OF <br />I <br />BEEF FOR FATHER S DAY <br />`on.~Ure.15', 1975, It respectfully urges all businesses <br />_ ;and organizations, producers and consumers to,coop- <br />erate'iii the observance of Fath'er's Day by serving beef <br />on this day to insure beef will have its rightful place . <br />among foods served on 'special days, and to recognize <br />. therimportance of the beef industry to.our state's- <br />,economy. <br />The proposed charter, amendments to the' Region J Council of <br />Governments which would provide fora primary and alternate representative, <br />both of whom would be elected officials was approved upon motion of Commissioner <br />Franklin D.' Wicker, seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion <br />was unanimously adopted upon a vote'. <br />The Board next considered planned use of revenue sharing <br />funds.for the coming fiscal year. The Finance Officer was directed to submit. <br />a report and publish an ad which reflected that proposed expenditures for <br />capital outlay would be.as follows:, Education:. $132,000. 00, Libraries; $200, 261. 00, <br />Health (Landfill) $75, 000. 00, Recreation: $25, 000. 00. <br />The Chairman called the members of the Board's attention <br />to a Civil Preparedness meeting which would be held in Scotland County. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotter'er reported that based upon the <br />applications. received for'the purpose of Building Inspector, that.it was his <br />receommendation that Mr. Walter-,Scoggins be employed as the County's Building <br />Inspector. <br />There was a general discussion and Commissioner Dotterer <br />reported there were many worthwhile applications and that the County may desire <br />to employ one of them as an Assistant-when the business of the office justified <br />such additional personnel. Commissioner Dotterer then moved that Mr.. Walter <br />L. Scoggins be employed as the County's Building Inspector to begin -his duties <br />on a full time basis from and after June 1 st,, and that an office be provided and.. <br />secretarial help employed and that Mr. Scoggins be paid at the present salary <br />grade held, by him. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted.', <br />There being no further business to coms'before the -session, <br />was adjourned sine die. <br />KENNETH R.
