Holder on the activities <br />of his Department was presented to the Board. <br />A letter. from Mr. Van Groce, about his interest in improve- <br />ment of downtown Sanford was read to the Board. <br />. The letter of Mr. James E. Coats, Director of the Department <br />of Social Services,, requesting a postage machine was read to the Board. The <br />Board authorized that adjustments be'made in the budget that the Tax Supervisor <br />could purchase a new machine 'and release his present machine'to the Department <br />of Social Services. <br />The monthly bills,as tabulated by the' County Finance Officer <br />was presented to the Board and discussed. Upon motion of Commissioner <br />William H: Cooper, duly 'seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, it was <br />unanimously resolved to pay the monthly bills,as listed. <br />1 <br />Letter of Mr. L. F. Meador, Chairman of the Lee County <br />.Planning Board, to Chairman Gordon A. Wicker', dated. May 17, 1975, was <br />read to the Board.. The Planning Board -is sponsoring a joint meeting in the <br />Commissioners Room on Wednesday,' June 11, 1975, at 8 o'clock p. M. , <br />with the District Health Department Representatives and the Commissioners . <br />were invited to attend the meeting' and participate in the discussion. <br />The Board next discussed fiscal affairs of the Mental Health <br />Department. After an extended'discussion,, Commissioner John E•, Dotterer . <br />moved that all monies to be spent and 'all bills to be paid by the Mental Health <br />Department shall be listed by the Mental Health personnel and a report of same <br />sent to the County Commissioners for their inspection, monthly. Commissioner <br />Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously <br />t adopted. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the Mental Health Board <br />be `requesfedltd~consider a meeting more frequently, preferably once a month <br />in,order.to exercise supervision over the operation of that Department. Comm-. <br />issoner`Hal, • Hancock seconded the motion and upon a'vote it was. unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The:Board then reviewed the suggested budget,line by line and <br />item by !item. ` <br />Upon motion made by Commissioner John E.. Dotterer, duly <br />seconded and unanimously adopted, it was resolved to adjourn the meeting until <br />8 o'clock p.. m., in the Commissioners Room of the County'Office Building, on <br />Tuesday, June 3rd, 1975. The meeting adjourned in_accordance with the motion. <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the.Board of Commissioners <br />for'Lee County convened in the Commissioners Room.of the County Office Building <br />at 8 o'clock p. m., on Tuesday, June 3rd, 1975, in accordance with the motion of <br />adjournment. All of the Commissioners were present except Commissioner <br />Franklin D. Wicker. Chairman Gordon A. . Wicker "presided and the following <br />business-was transa6ted: <br />The County Finance. Officer presented the budget for the coming <br />fiscal year and the matter was reviewed," item by item, and line byline.
