Fireworks Permit for 4 11 of July event by Joel Ammons at Sanford Health & <br />Rehab (copy attached), <br />Tax Releases and Refunds for May 2014 (copy attached), and <br />Pre -Event Contract for Disaster Debris Management & Removal Services with <br />TAG Grinding Services (copy attached). <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />No one signed up to speak during the Public Comments section of the meeting. <br />At this time the Board held a joint public hearing with the Lee County Planning Board to <br />consider an application submitted by Connie & Judy Deal and the Laws Family Trust to rezone 3 tracks <br />of land totaling 3.125 acres located at 7273 Lemon Springs Road from Neighborhood Community (NC) <br />district to Highway Commercial (H) district. Planner Althea Thompson outlined the proposed project. <br />Chairman Parks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />The following spoke in favor of the rezoning request: <br />Mr. Dowell Eakes, 333 Eakes Road, Sanford (representing the Deal family and <br />Laws Family Trust) <br />No one spoke in opposition to the rezoning request. <br />Chairman Parks closed the public hearing. <br />The Board considered the FY 2014 -15 Budget. County Manager John Crumpton briefly outlined <br />his recommended budget. <br />Additional budget items were discussed at this time that were not addressed during the 5 p.m. <br />budget work session. Commissioner Frazier moved to give Johnston - Lee - Harnett Community Action <br />$6,000 for services they offer that no one else in the County provides. Much discussion followed, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, and Reives <br />Nay: Knecht, Parks, Smith, and Womack <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had failed with a 4 to 3 vote. <br />Commissioner Reives moved Johnston - Lee - Community Action be given $3,000 in the upcoming <br />budget. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, and Reives <br />Nay; Knecht, Parks, Smith, and Womack <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had failed with a 4 to 3 vote. <br />2 <br />
