LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />BUDGET WORK SESSION <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSION <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA <br />MAY 30, 2014 <br />The budget work session of the Board of C ssioners for the Count M f Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 9 a.m. in the Gordon er Conference Room, First Floor, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hilicrest Drive, San North prolina, on said date. Commissioners <br />present at the beginning of the meeting were Dr. azier, Charles T. Parks, Kirk D. Smith, and <br />James K. Womack. Commissioners Amy M. Dalrymp Robert T. Reives joined the meeting at 9:15 <br />a.m. Commissioner Andre Knecht was absent from the eting. Staff in attendance included County <br />Manager John Crumpton, Assistant County Manager /Fines Director Lisa Minter, County Attorney <br />Kerry Schmid, Michael James, Ma p ent Fellow, and Cler the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Chairman Parks called the m 'n9 <br />Commissioner Frazier delivered <br />TM <br />Schoo N D. nten ht Dr. Andy Bryan, various staff members, and two Board members were <br />present to disd stions in reference to the requested Board of Education FY 2014 -15 <br />Budget reque outline budget message and vision for the school. No action was taken. <br />Central Carolina munity College (CCCC) President Dr. Bud Marchant, a staff person, and <br />ustee me rs were present to discuss and answer questions in reference to the <br />;C FY 2014 -15 Budget request. Among other items discussed was the Innovation <br />at the Lee County Industrial Park. It was suggested that the CCCC Board of Trustees <br />9was Commissioners meet jointly at the Innovation Center to discuss future use of the <br />taken. <br />mty Industries Executive Director Mike Gilmore discussed the proposed FY 2014 -15 <br />of $10,000 from his non - profit organization. No action was taken. <br />Executive Director Susan King from HAVEN and Office Administrator Lane Dickens presented <br />the proposed FY 2014 -15 Budget request of $10,000 from their non - profit organization. It was stated <br />that at this time, nineteen women and children are in residence at the shelter. Ms. King asked the <br />Board to consider her request so there will be no lapse in services to victims of abuse and violence. No <br />action was taken. <br />
