C13 The Board considered Budget Amendment # 06/02/14/15. Finance Director Lisa Minter presented said Budget Amendment for the following: Health Department — appropriate $2,678 in additional revenue from the State to purchase contraceptives. After a lengthy discussion, Commissioner Womack moved to approve Budget Amendment # 06102114115, a copy of which is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: ,.^ 6„ Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, a Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. County Manager John Crumpton introduced House Bill 2 = 'Moratorium /Lawsdit for School Funds that had been added to the Agenda at the beginnin f the eeting. Mr. Crumpton stated the North Carolina Association of County Commissioner' {C s endorsed the Resolution presented which addresses litigation between local boards ucation and boards of county commissioners that has resulted in costly legal fees for both pa that have reduced the amount of taxpayers' dollars that are actually spent on education in the p ools. Litigation has also led to prolonged legal battles including appeals to the No Carolin ppellate courts keeping the matters unresolved over several school yea If approved, the Resolution asked that Lee County be included in the Bill.
