BK - 00026 PG <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, North Carolina met in a regular <br />meeting in the Commissioners' Room at the Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive <br />in Sanford, North Carolina, the regular place of meeting, at 6:00 p.m. on May 22, 2014. <br />Present: Chairman Charles T. Parks, presiding, and Commissioners Kirk Smith, Amy <br />Dalrymple, Robert Reives, Dr. Andre Knecht, Dr. Ricky Frazier, and Jim Womack <br />Absent: None <br />Also present: County Manager John Crumpton, Finance Director Lisa Minter, and <br />Clerk to the Board Gavnell Lee <br />Finance Director Lisa Minter introduced the following resolution the title of which <br />was read and copies of which had been previously distributed to each Commissioner: <br />RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND <br />DETERMINATIONS, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN <br />APPLICATION WITH THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMISSION <br />AND APPOINTING BOND COUNSEL IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br />PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE BONDS BY THE <br />COUNTY <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners (the "Board ") for the County of Lee, <br />North Carolina (the "County "): <br />Section 1. The Board does hereby find and determine as follows: <br />(a) The Board of Trustees of Central Carolina Community College (the "Community <br />College ") has determined that adequate community college facilities are not now available in the <br />County and that it is necessary for the Community College to (i) acquire, construct and equip a <br />new health science building, the estimated cost of which is approximately $9,000,000, (ii) <br />expand and renovate the veterinary medical technology facility, the estimated cost of which is <br />
