B K: 00026 PG <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />TOWN HALL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />McSWAIN EXTENSION EDUCATION & AGRICULTURAL CENTER <br />2420 TRAMWAY ROAD <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />MAY 8, 2014 <br />The Town Hall meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 6 p.m. at the McSwain Extension Education & Agricultural Center, 2420 <br />Tramway Road, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy M. <br />Dalrymple, Charles T. Parks, and Kirk D. Smith. Staff present included County Manager John <br />Crumpton, County Attorney Kerry Schmid, MPA Management Fellow, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell <br />Lee. <br />Chairman Parks welcomed everyone and opened the meeting with a power -point presentation <br />giving an overview of County finances, new businesses in the County, School Resource Officer <br />program, strategic plan for economic growth, space study for Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), <br />revenues, expenditures, property tax decrease, real property revaluation, sales tax distribution, and <br />debt reduction and bond rating. <br />The following individuals had questions or made comments: <br />1. Charles Sutherland, 516 W. Makepeace St., Sanford — concern for a state -of- the -art <br />Library in downtown Sanford <br />2. Rev. Bruce Petty, Trinity Lutheran Church, Sanford — concerned about businesses <br />moving out of downtown Sanford, high taxes, and need to get new <br />businesses /people to move into Lee County <br />3. Dr. Jim Foster, Cool Springs Road, Sanford — question ref new business, Fitzpak <br />Chairman Parks thanked everyone for attending the Town Hall meeting. <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m. <br />— Charles T.
