WHHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above des- cribed road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, ,,.the Boa rd'of'County Comm- issioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to,the Secondary. Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and, criteria estab i" lished by the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for, the addition of i roads to the-System. i ` } , ,i. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved' by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of'Lee, that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the above described-road, and to take over the road for maintenance' if it meets established standards and criteria. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously, adopted. Commissioners John E. Dotterer and William H,. Cooper joined the meeting and participated in the further-deliberations of the Board. The Chairman brought up for discussion the increase in monthly rental in maintaining the police information network terminal in the Sheriff's office. . The monthly terminal•rent will be in I creased.froin $153. 50 to $175. 00 a month, effective January 1, 1976. The following resolution was offered by Commissioner John E. Dottererand•'a motion was made: by Commissioner Dotterer that it be adopted, this motion was seconded by, Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, and upon being put to a vote, was unanimously carried; WHEREASthe North Carolina Department of Justice, Police' Information Network plans to make avail- able to law enforcement agencies and other appropriate agencies of the State:through the use of a centralized' computer system various information now available or to be developed essential to the efficient operation of said agencies such as, bixt~nof limited to, information contained in the De- partment of Motor Vehicles' files,, information contained in' the National Crime Information Center, information contained in the State Bureau of. Investigation's files, Department of Corrections' files, and information from local law enforce- ment-agencies by the installation of a Police Information Net- work terminal in the office of the Sheriff, provided the Board of Commissioners of Lee County agrees to furnish a proper, site for, installing such terminal, and the necessary personnel to operate said terminal„and further•agrees to assume the rental cost of such terminal from the date of installation; that said installation of a Police Information Network terminal is c'onsidered.to be most necessary to the preservation of law and order and the promotion of public safety within Lee County; and
