„p rrpp Ff E~c+ O rdCEJ~~ The written report of Mr., Nathan D. Crissman, Tax Collector -on the collections of his department, were presented'to.the Board. The.written report of the Lee County' Agricultural Extension Service on the activities of their department, were presented to the Board. A written-report from Mr,' James Clark, Lee County Tax Supervisor was presented to the Board which contained, summaries and copies ' of the laws effecting County tax' administration: Mr.. Darrell Mullins of the firm of Pate-Mullins and Assoc- iates, appeared before'the Board and gave;a report on the work being carried on at the Lee County Armory. Mr. 'Mullins also discussed the landscaping project at the Senior Citizens facility. Mr. 'Elwin Buchanan, Director of the Community Development Program, appeared before the Board, together with Mr. James Pate and Mr. Robert Bracken, of'Pate-Mullins & Associates, and discussed the va"rious community development projects. Chairman Gordon A. Wicker left the meeting to attend the` meeting of the Sanford Rotary Club where' he was to accept a gift on behalf of the County Recreation Program. Vice-Chairman Hal L: Hancock presided in the absence of the Chairman. Vice-Chairman Hancock brought up for consideration by the Board a petition requesting that the Jones Road, which runs off of the Center Church Road (Secondary Road 1303), -be added to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. After discussion, Comniissioner4illiam H. Cooper moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to said Road: WHEREAS, the attached' petition has been ' ' filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that-the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added.to the'Secondary Road system; and WHEREAS,, the Board of County Commissioners' is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division'of Highways of the Department of Transportation and Highway•Safety for. the addition of roads to the System. . NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board' of County Commissioners of the' County of Lee, that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to. review the above described.road, and to take over the road for main- tenance if it meets established standards and criteria.
