Crissman, Tax <br />Collector -on the collections of his department, were presented'to.the Board. <br />The.written report of the Lee County' Agricultural Extension <br />Service on the activities of their department, were presented to the Board. <br />A written-report from Mr,' James Clark, Lee County Tax <br />Supervisor was presented to the Board which contained, summaries and copies ' <br />of the laws effecting County tax' administration: <br />Mr.. Darrell Mullins of the firm of Pate-Mullins and Assoc- <br />iates, appeared before'the Board and gave;a report on the work being carried on <br />at the Lee County Armory. Mr. 'Mullins also discussed the landscaping project <br />at the Senior Citizens facility. <br />Mr. 'Elwin Buchanan, Director of the Community Development <br />Program, appeared before the Board, together with Mr. James Pate and Mr. <br />Robert Bracken, of'Pate-Mullins & Associates, and discussed the va"rious <br />community development projects. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker left the meeting to attend the` <br />meeting of the Sanford Rotary Club where' he was to accept a gift on behalf of the <br />County Recreation Program. <br />Vice-Chairman Hal L: Hancock presided in the absence of the <br />Chairman. <br />Vice-Chairman Hancock brought up for consideration by the Board <br />a petition requesting that the Jones Road, which runs off of the Center Church <br />Road (Secondary Road 1303), -be added to the State Maintained Secondary Road <br />System. After discussion, Comniissioner4illiam H. Cooper moved the adoption <br />of the following resolution with respect to said Road: <br />WHEREAS, the attached' petition has been ' ' <br />filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee, requesting that-the above described road, the <br />location of which has been indicated in red on the attached <br />map, be added.to the'Secondary Road system; and <br />WHEREAS,, the Board of County Commissioners' <br />is of the opinion that the above described road should be added <br />to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum <br />standards and criteria established by the Division'of Highways <br />of the Department of Transportation and Highway•Safety for. <br />the addition of roads to the System. . <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the <br />Board' of County Commissioners of the' County of Lee, that <br />the Division of Highways is hereby requested to. review the <br />above described.road, and to take over the road for main- <br />tenance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner FranklintiD.. W.icker.s,econded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously.adopted., <br />Vice-Chairman Hancock thenjbrbught,up for discussion, a <br />petition which requested that the road in Country Estates,Subdivision'be added <br />to the State System for Maintenance. Commissioner William'H, Cooper moved <br />the adoption of the following resolution: <br />
