The Chairman reported that the Council on Aging. had requested an appropriation of $1; 784. 00 for the balance of the purchase price :of a bus, Commissioner Dotter.er moved that $1, 784. 00 be appropriated from'the unapprop- riated surplus in the General Fund for the local share of funds for the purchase price of'a bus to be used by the Council on Aging. Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Messrs. Cooper, Dotterer,, F. Wicker and G. Wicker all voted for adoption and no one voted against adoption of the motion. Commissioner Dotterer moved the adoption of the following resolution pertaining to the employment of a Deputy, Sheriff using,Law Enforcement Assistance Administration funds: WHEREAS, the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNT'Y'herein called the "Applicant" has thoroughly considered the 'problem addressed in the subgrant application entitled Lee County - One Deputy, and has reviewed the project described in the application-,, and WHEREAS, under, the terms of Public Law 90-351 as amended, the United, States of America.has author- ized the Law Enforcement Assistance Adininistration,.through. the North Carolina Division of Law and Order to make federal grants to assist local governments in the improvement of the criminal justice system, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, IN OPEN MEETING ASSEMBLED IN THE CITY OF SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA, THIS 15TH DAY OF'DECEMBER, 1975, AS FOLLOWS: '1'That the-project referenced above is in the, best interest of- theApplicant. and the'generalrpublic.
