BOOK 8 I~'r5t <br />BOOK <br />1 ~ <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner, Franklin D. Wicker,. and unanimously 'adopted,' it was <br />resolved to set the value of the mobile home.structures recently acquired <br />by the County, at $1, 500. 00 each and that insurance be procured in that amount. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, together with Mr. Chester, from Williams <br />& Works, appeared before the Board and reviewed the Community Development <br />projects presently underway. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William H. Cooper, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, it was unanimously. resolved to authorize <br />the Director of Community Development to make application for a grant for <br />State assistance in the establishment of fire protection project at the Clawson <br />L. Williams Industrial Park. <br />Mr. Buchanan reviewed the rehabilitation program being carried <br />on by the Triangle J Housing Development Corporation. Upon motion of <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, duly seconded by Commissioner Hal L. <br />Hancock, it was unanimously resolved to authorize the Director of'Community <br />Development to approve the statements of the Triangle J Housing Corporation <br />for its services pursuant to its contract with Lee County for rehabilitation, of <br />housing. <br />Mr. Chester of Williams & Works, presented and reviewed <br />with the Board,* the fire district plan which was developed in the last survey <br />of the County facilities. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which was unanimously adopted,, it was <br />resolved to appoint Mrs. Max a Matthews to the Lee County Planning Board <br />to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. L.' F.. Meador. <br />Commissioner Hancock brought up for discussion, the marking <br />of County cars with the County seal, in order to readily identify them and prevent{ <br />unauthorized used of such vehicles. The Chairman advised the members of the <br />Board he had already instructed the maintenance personnel to have, all County, <br />cars with permanent plates to be'marked with the County, seal, and.it was agreed <br />that this policy would be followed in the future. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the Board take <br />recognition of the passing of Mr: C. S. Ragan of Deep River Township who <br />had served the people of this County as an Agricultural Extension Teacher <br />and as a member of the Board of Social Services. ; Chairman Gordon A. Wicker <br />relinquished the Chair to Vice Chairman Hal L. Hancock in order that he might <br />second the motion. Upon a vote, the motion was.unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the minutes reflect <br />that the Board recognize that the first meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />of Lee County was held on February 17, 1908. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />There was a general and extended discussion of the B. Everette <br />Jordan Lake Project which is presently under construction in Chatham County, and <br />about which there is litigation in the Federal Courts. The pros and cons of em- <br />pounding the water at this time was discussed, but no formal action was taken. <br />The Board next considered the proposed Mobile Home Ordinance. <br />Following discussion, Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved the adoption of the <br />following : <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />OF LEE COUNTY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />
