Contractor <br />8 <br />Bid <br />Mac N. Nixon $ 47, 400. 00 <br />Blue Contracting Co. 47,680.00 <br />J. Q. Johnson Construction 45,678.00 <br />The Board decided to hold the bids open in keeping with the terms of its invitation <br />for bids and then take final action on the bids received. <br />The minutes of the meeting of March 1st, 1976, were apP1~vea. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper moved that the sum of $3, 672. 00 be <br />appropriated from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund to the Maintenance <br />Fund Budget for the Senior Citizens facility for the purpose of.paying the City of <br />Sanford the County's portion of the landscaping costs. Commissioner Dotterer seconded <br />the motion and upon a roll call vote, Messrs. Cooper, Dotterer,' Hancock, F. Wicker and <br />G. Wicker all voted for it and no-one voted against it. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the sum of $2, 250. 00 be <br />appropriated from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund to the Civil Prepared- <br />ness Fund to pay for furniture for the County offices. Commissioner Dotterer seconded <br />the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Cooper, Dotterer, Hancock, F. <br />Wicker and G. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper moved that the sum of $200. 00 be <br />appropriated from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund for the purpose of <br />advertising Lee County. Commissioner Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a roll <br />call vote, Messrs. Cooper, Dotterer, Hancock,. F. Wicker and, G. Wicker all voted'for <br />it. <br />Commissioner Dotterer moved that the Courthouse Annex be renamed as <br />the "Agricultural Building", and that suitable markers and signs be erected to show such <br />designation. Commissioner Hancock seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimous- <br />ly adopted. <br />The Chairman advised the Board that'the Community Development work in <br />Lyons Bottom had been designated as a national study among Community Development <br />Projects. <br />The Board proceeded to open bids for replacements of 3 window units in <br />the County Office Building. The bids received were as follows: <br />King Roofing & Manufacturing Company $ 1, 498.00 <br />Coggin Heating and Air-Conditioning $ 1, 68000 <br />Commissioner Dotterer moved that the low bid of King Roofing & Manufacturing Company <br />be accepted and the bill be paid from the Maintenance Budget. Commissioner Franklin <br />D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock reported that the Election Officials were <br />complaining about the space available to them in the County Maintenance Building. <br />Various proposals about expanding the building were discussed but no.formal action <br />was taken. The County Attorney was directed to check on the zoning in that area. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan appeared before the Board and gave a report for <br />the G011UTllty Development agency. His written report was discussed at length and <br />}he proposals for the addition to the water system at the Clawson L. Williams Industrial <br />Park were discussed. The following resolution pertaining to the addition to the water <br />`system at the Clawson L. Williams Industrial Park was introduced by Commissioner <br />Dotterer, who moved its adoption: <br />I: <br />
