<br />mot. <br />" Commissioner John E., Dotterer seconded the motion' and- upon a_ <br />roll call vote, Messrs, Cooper,Dotterer,.Hancock, Franklin D. Wicker and <br />Gordon A. Wicker all voted for ii 'and no one boted.against it. <br />Chairman reported that the Exodus House, Inc., had executed the <br />contract'with the County to furnish a rehabilitation for alcoholics: 'The contract <br />bore the date of June 24th, Upon motion of Comm ssio er'Doiterer; seconded by <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, the execution of the contract was ratified and <br />approved and it was directed that the Exodus House furnish the Commissioners <br />with quarterly reports of their activities.to,include copies of the minutes of the <br />meeting of its Board of Directors, <br />The Chairman and'the Clerk were requested to workout a schedule <br />of•.reports to be required from the various agencies and departments of the County <br />for .consideration and approval by the Board, <br />The Chairman reported the Board had received a'letter from the <br />Jonesboro Garden, Club expressing its appreciation for the construction of the <br />fence at the Jonesboro Branch of the'Library,., <br />-Mr., Elwin Buchanan 0 Ditre`ctor of the Community Development <br />Program,, appeared before the Board and reviewed the budget for that program. <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock moved that the sum of $14, 567.14 be appropriated <br />from the Contingency: Fund within the Community Development budget to the Lemon <br />Springs Water Line Project for the purpose of completing the project: <br />Mr, Elwin Buchanan next presented for consideration by the Board, <br />the applicants for the position of Construction. Supervisor at the Sanford=Lee County <br />Recreational Park in East Sanford Township. (old Water Works property). After <br />reviewing the applications and discussing the salary requirements, the Board, <br />upon motion of Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, seconded by Commissioner John <br />E. Dotterer, 'it was unanimously resolved to employ Mr. Lowell Matthews, at the <br />salary of $ 14,700, 00, for this position. <br />The Boardnext proceeded to.open bids.for the construction of the, _ <br />Broadway Community Center. The bids-received are listed on the bid tabulation <br />form annexed to these minutes and by this reference, made.a part hereof. Comm- <br />issioner'Dotterer moved that consideration in awarding the bids be tabled until <br />the next meeting on Monday,. July 19th, <br />Representatives•of Williams &(Works, Engineers, appeared before <br />the Board relative to the contract for'the construction of the water tank at the Clawson <br />L„ Williams Industrial Park. Mr. Bracken,.one of the engineers, explained that the <br />existing easements for utility lines were no•tadequate for the installation of the pro- <br />ject and he was advised to get an extension for the acceptance of the bids from- <br />Universal Tank and Iron Company and Blue Contracting Company. Mr, Bracken <br />reported that the extensions had been obtained and consideration of this matter <br />was deferred pending securing the necessary easements.' <br />The Board next proceeded to hold's public hearing on the adoption <br />of the Budget for the current'fiscal year. No one appeared for the public hearing. <br />The public hearing was duly closed and the Board then passed consideration of <br />the Budget Ordinance. Commissioner Dotterer moved the adoption of the Budget <br />Resolution and it was duly.seconded by,'Cominissioner Hal L, Hancock, The <br />Budget Ordinance is as follows: <br />
