The Chairman read"to the Board a letter from the Superintendent, <br />Kenneth Brinson, thanking the Board for the consideration given the schools in <br />the current budget. <br />The roster of the Northview Rural Volunteer Fire Department, as <br />certified by R. L. Lemmond, the Secretary, was presented to the Board. The <br />roster was examined and upon motion of Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, duly <br />seconded by Commissioner'William H. Cooper, the roster was approved and it was <br />directed that a copy of the *roster' be certified to the North Carolina Firemen's <br />Pension Fund, in accordance with G..' S: 118-23. A copy of the roster is attached <br />to the minutes. <br />A letter from the Grants Management Director of the Law and Order <br />Section of the Department of Natural & Economic Resources, concerning the <br />application for an investigator on the Sheriff's Staff was read to the Board. The <br />letter stated that the grant had been approved,' however,, the Budget would have to <br />be revised in accordance with the recommendations of an Analyst. <br />The Board next discussed fire protection districts and requested <br />that Mr. T. W. McDonald, Chairman of the Board of Elections be requested to <br />attend the meeting. <br />The Board next considered the jail inspection report,which was a <br />favorable report, was presented to the Board and discussed. <br />The Board next considered the allocation.of the school appropriation, <br />in accordance with its authority under G.' S. 115-100..9.. Commissioner Cooper <br />moved that the appropriation for the Sanford-Lee County School Administrative <br />Unit be allocated, as follows: - <br />5000 INSTRUCTIONAL <br />5100 Regular Programs <br />5200- Special Programs <br />6000 SUPPORTINGSERVICES PROGRAMS <br />6100 Pupil Programs <br />6200 Instructional Staff Programs <br />6300 General Administration Programs <br />6400 School Administration Programs <br />6500 Business Programs <br />6600 Central Programs <br />911 - CATEGORY' I <br />Sewer at West Site/Junior High <br />Athletic Facilities at Junior Highs <br />Furniture for Junior Highs <br />Repair old Buildings <br />Improve grounds <br />9200 - CATEGORY-II <br />Furniture and.
