Action Program, .appeared before the `Boa`rd and f i requested'to lease the.wooden building,located-to the rear`of'the'Adult;Education Center on the CountyHome -Property' for use in operating the Head Start Program. Mr, Franklin Matthews explained that extensive,renovations.wouldybe'made and hecause•of;them cost of'-'renovation` they-would need _ a five year lease. After ascer- 'taining'that the facility was not needed by the Central Carolina Technical-Institute, Commissioner,Franklin D. Wicker moved that the facility be.leased to the Johnston- Lee County Community Action, Inc., for a period.of five years, 'for the operation of a Head Start Program; provided, however if the County should find; it necessary -to terminate the lease `within,the five year period, it would reimburse the Johnston- Lee County Community Action ;Inc. , for-it . s renovation up to the. amount of ` $10,060.00, at'the rate of one-fifth of the. renovation cost for each year less than five years of occupancy'by•the. Tenant and further provided that in ascertaining the renovation costs,,no.charge shall be-made-for labor which is furnished under any - grant program for which the Tenant is not obligated to make reimbursement.
