And whereas, each person.who wished to be.heard on said <br />matter:was he~ard,> said persons being-as follows;` <br />Orton J. Cameron,` Attorney <br />J. L., Keith. <br />And whereas, the Board is satisfied that the closing of the <br />portion of the road as' described would not be contrary to the public <br />interest and that no individual owning property in the subdivision <br />in which it is located would thereby.be.deprived of reasonable <br />means of ingress and egress to his property. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, it is <br />RESOLVED that the portion- of the unnamed road shown on map of <br />Sunset Hills in-or near the community of Northview and described <br />as follows: <br />Being the,_northernmost portion of the unnamed road which abuts,on <br />Lots. Nos. 334 through 340 inclusive, as shown on map, entitled <br />"Sunset Hills" and recorded in Map Book 4, page 52, Lee County <br />Registry and being-the area which would be north of the northern <br />boundary if Northview Drive as.shown on said map were extended <br />to the line of Lot No. 326 as shown on said map. <br />be and the same is hereby ordered closed,pursuant to the authority <br />set forth in G. S. 153A-241. <br />CommissionerFranklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon 'a <br />vote thereon Commissioners Cooper, Dotterer, Hancock, F. Wicker <br />..and G. Wicker-voted 'in-favor and no one voted against., <br />Mr,. Hugh Brewer, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds,. appeared <br />before the Board and reported on the cost and availability of- toilet fixtures for the <br />jail. After discussion and review' of the materials, Commissioner William H. Cooper <br />moved that Mr. Brewer.be authorized to purchase five'stainless steel comodes for <br />-use at the. jail with the purchase to be made from the appropriation for the Main- <br />tenance Department. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote.it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker requested. that Mr. Brewer have <br />Mr. Darrell Mullins present to the Board his recommendations and specifications <br />for repairing the windows in the County Office Building. <br />Mr. James Pate and Mr. Ed Fleis of Williams and: Works; ,appeared, <br />before the Board and discussed the Lyons Bottom.Project 'Nlr Pate; tated'.that'it'_ <br />_ was a complex job and the City of Sanford was requiring resident inspection or <br />continuous. inspection of all phases of the construction. Mr. Pate.•stated kit'was <br />extremely difficult to estimate-the _cost for such special service buthe thought his <br />firm could perform the services for not more than $7, 000. 00. After further dis- <br />cussion by the.Board and the representatives of the engineeringFfirrri, Commissioner-`-. <br />Dotterer moved that the Board employ Williams and Works to perform'resident <br />inspection services on the Lyons 'Bottom Project-at a sum not to exceed $7, 000. 00 <br />said payment to be made from grant funds. Commissioner Cooper seconded the <br />motion•and upon a vote`.it was unanimously adopted. <br />-Chairman Gordon Wicker -reminded. the Board, that County Commissioners <br />would be recognized at a ceremony to be held at the State Fair on Monday, October <br />152 1976, at 6:00 o'clock p, m. <br />
