LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />APPOINTING KERRY A. SCHMID <br />AS LEE COUNTY ATTORNEY <br />WHEREAS, Under North Carolina General Statute §153A-114 every board of county <br />commissioners in North Carolina must appoint an attorney to be its legal advisory; and <br />WHEREAS, Kerry A. Schmid was hired on November 19, 2012 to serve in the Lee County <br />Attorney's office and serve under County Attorney Neil Yarborough until her North Carolina <br />Law License application was approved by the North Carolina Bar; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Schmid received her North Carolina Law License and was sworn into office <br />April 24, 2014, by Judge C. Winston Gilchrist in Lillington, North Carolina. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that <br />CO Kerry A. Schmid is hereby appointed Lee County Attorney and the County will retain the <br />services of Attorney Neil Yarborough for the current Calendine vs. Lee County lawsuit and <br />other legal matters as deemed appropriate by the County Attorney or Board of Commissioners. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, said appointments are to be effective as of May 5, 2014. <br />Adopted this 5th day of May 2014. <br />ATTEST: <br />C:ia�y"Cell.
