V i 0 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />yet' <br />' AAM-- <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />TOWN HALL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />BROADWAY COMMUNITY BUILDING <br />BROADWAY, NORTH CAROLINA 27505 <br />APRIL 14, 2014 <br />The Town Hall meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 7 p.m. at the Broadway Community Building, Broadway Road, <br />Broadway, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy M. Dalrymple, Charles T. <br />Parks, Kirk D. Smith, and James K. Womack. Staff present included County Manager John Crumpton, <br />Legal Clerk Kerry Schmid, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Chairman Parks welcomed everyone and opened the meeting with a power -point presentation <br />giving an overview of County finances, new businesses in the County, School Resource Officer <br />program, strategic plan for economic growth, space study for Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), <br />revenues, expenditures, property tax decrease, real property revaluation, sales tax distribution, and <br />debt reduction and bond rating. <br />No one signed up to speak but the following did make comments: <br />• Lynne Green, Broadway Town Commissioner — thanked Commissioners for coming to <br />Broadway and song that more citizens didn't attend the meeting, <br />• Bob Stevens, Broadway Town Manager — Questioned why Commissioners didn't take <br />the 3 cent tax cut from last year and apply to debt, <br />• Judy Davis, Broadway resident — questioned why Lee County does not have a room <br />occupancy tax; wants more /better shopping in Lee County, and <br />• Donald Andrews, Broadway Mayor — thanked Commissioners for coming to Broadway. <br />Senator Eton Rabin gave a brief overview of what is going on in Raleigh at this time. <br />Chairman Parks thanked everyone for attending the Town Hall meeting and invited guests to <br />meet with Commissioners after the meeting if they had additional questions. <br />With no additional business to come before the Board, Chairman Parks adjourned the meeting <br />at 8 p.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Charles T.
