L,EE,, COUNTY <br />_. <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FINAL OFFER FOR THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON STROUD <br />STREET, LOT 1 —10 BLOCK E IN THE CITY OF SANFORD <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee and City of Sanford own certain property located on Stroud Street, Lot <br />1-10 Block E of Gunter Forest, Sanford, N.C., as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1335, Page 818 <br />in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof, reference is hereby made <br />for more complete description; and, <br />WHEREAS, the tax value of the aforementioned property is Eleven Thousand Seven Hundred and <br />No/100 Dollars ($11,700); and, <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the county to sell <br />property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County received an original offer submitted by Cameron Francis and Darlene Francis <br />("Offerors"), to purchase the property described above in the amount of $2,700.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Offerors paid to the County Clerk the required five percent (5%) deposit on their offer <br />plus advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the above offer of $2,700.00 at the <br />Board's regular meeting on March 17, 2014, and such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on March 21, <br />2014; and, <br />WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and the original <br />bid of $2,700.00 from Cameron Francis and Darlene Francis is the final and highest bid received. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as follows: <br />1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of $2,700.00 from Cameron <br />Francis and Darlene Francis. <br />2. The terms of the final sale are as follows: The buyer must pay with cash, cashier's check or <br />certified check at the time of closing. <br />3. The County Manager and appropriate County officials are authorized to execute the instruments <br />necessary to convey the property. <br />4. Final sale of the property is subject to approval and acceptance by the City of Sanford. <br />Dated this the 71 day of April 2014. <br />Charles T.
