sacs acs 714 V <br />t 3 _ o <br />Commissioner Dotterer- seconded the motion and upon a vote, it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Jim Coats, Director of the Lee County Department of Social <br />Services, appeared before the.-Board and-presented Mr. Robert <br />Stewart of Fayetteville, who is the.Regional Director for the State Department of <br />Social Services. There was a discussion which touched, on the technical services <br />rendered by the Regional Office, the food stamp program, and the `delinquent child - <br />program: <br />The Chairman announced that the time for receiving bids for the <br />purchase of cars for the Sheriff's Department had expired and directed the Clerk <br />to open and read the bids received. The bids were as follows: <br />Bidder Proposal No. 1 Proposal No. 2 <br />Dowdy Ford 52155.77 5,075, 51 <br />Cooper'- Harris 53 240.-34 5, 194.27 <br />LaFayetfe Motors 5, 393.76 5, Z83.60, <br />Womble; Chevrolet 5, 412, 32 5, 306. 69 <br />The specifications were' read and reviewed. Under proposal no. 1, <br />the County had the option to purchase four automobiles at the bid price. <br />Commissioner Dotterer moved the adoption of the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED.AS FOLLOWS: <br />(1) That the sum of $13, 700.00-be appropriated from the <br />unappropriated surplus in the General Fund to the, Sheriff's <br />Department Fund for the purchase of automobiles. <br />(2) That the low,bid of DowdyFord on proposal no. 1 be accepted <br />and the County exercise its option to take four (4) automobiles <br />at that price. <br />(3) That,the low bid of Dowdy Ford on Proposal No. 2 be . <br />...accepted subject to the approval of-the appropriate official <br />on behalf of the Triangle Commission on Criminal Justice. <br />Mr.' Garland Fulton appeared before the Board on behalf of the <br />Lee County Hospital and introduced Mr. William G. Huggins and representatives <br />of URS Corporation. Mr. Huggins reviewed theā¢master;plan for. hospital services <br />prepared by URS Corporation. Mr. Richard.Rush-gave a-copy of the report to <br />each Commissioner.' `Chairman Wicker thanked the representatives for the report.. <br />The written reports of various County agencies were distributed to. <br />each member of the Board. <br />- Upon motion of_ Commissioner Dotferer, duly seconded by Comm- <br />;;issione_r': Franklin D. Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted, it'was <br />resolved to Gsignate the week of November '14,- 20, as Education Week in Lee <br />- County and to authorize the Chairman to issue a proclamation to that effect. <br />.2 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner. Dotterer, duly seconded by r ' <br />Commis,sioner,.Hancock, it was resolved to amend the budget to reflect an <br />expenditure from tRevenue Sharing .in the amount of $6, 195.28 to cover the <br />contract to Engineered Construction Products, Ltd., for windows in,the Agricul- <br />ture Building, pursuant to a contract awarded in March gf1976. <br />
