BHA 8 PAGE (,G 5 <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, W. H. CAMPBELL, died in Sanford, North Carolina, <br />on the 8th day of November, 1976, and the said W. H. CAMPBELL was a former <br />Tax Collector for the County of Lee, and it is therefore fitting and proper that the <br />Board of Commissioners for Lee County should pause and take notice of his death; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, W. H. CAMPBELL was a lifetime resident of the <br />Jonesboro Heights Section of Sanford, North Carolina, and throughout the years <br />of his life he gave to an unusual degree of his time, energy and talents in the <br />interest of his friends and for the betterment of his community; and <br />WHEREAS, W. H. CAMPBELL served as the Tax Collector for Lee <br />County from the year 1942 until the year 1961, and his service was marked by <br />fidelity and efficiency; and <br />WHEREAS, his passing represents to the Board the loss of a loyal <br />personal friend and to his community and to the County itself, the loss of an untiring <br />and unselfish servant; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY: <br />Section 1: That in the death of W. H. CAMPBELL, the County of <br />Lee has lost one of its distinguished and useful sons and the Board of Commissioners <br />here today pause and recapitulate his character and achievements with pride and <br />pays homage to a man who lived a useful and practical life. <br />Section 2; A copy of this resolution shall be made a part of the <br />minutes of the meeting of the Board of Commissioners as a permanent record <br />showing the honor and respect paid to W. H. CAMPBELL by this Board, and a <br />copy of same shall be sent to his family. <br />
