Wicker presenteda sketch showing planned <br />improvements and renovations in the area behind' the Supe'rior' Court room at the-Lee <br />County Courthouse. The. Courthouse committee reported that, the work would have to <br />be done in,stages and a portion of the work such,as the fire escape would probably <br />have to be let by contract. The proposal for renovations was approved upon motion <br />of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, which motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />R'oync';and upon a vote was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. James Pate, of Williams & Works, Engineers, appeared before <br />the Board and presented his recommendations concerning tax mapping. After review <br />of Mr. Pate's recommendations, consideration of tax mapping was tabled until'the <br />next meeting, upon motion of Commissioner Rhyne, which motion was duly seconded by <br />Commissioner Dotterer and unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Mr. Earl Sloan was se-appointed to the County Planning Board for a <br />term of four years, upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, which motion was duly <br />seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker and unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the sum of $2, 900. 00 <br />be appropriated from the miscellaneous expense accountin the Landfill Fund to have <br />Williams & Works prepare an operational plan for-an additional area on the Landfill <br />site, in accordance with their proposal of November 15;:1976. Commissioner Rhyne <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote, Messrs. Dotterer,. Rhyne, F. Wicker, G. <br />Wicker arid- Cooper all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />There was a discussion about the. fees paid to financial institutions for <br />handling the sale of food stamps but no formal action was-taken on this matter at <br />this meeting.. <br />There was a discussion concerning.a front end loader but no action <br />was taken concerning this equipment. <br />Commissioner Dotterer raised the. question about the appointment <br />of a Social Services attorney and Commissioner Wicker-reported that the Welfare <br />Board-was taking action to employ an attorney under 'a program whereby the County <br />would receive assistance in paying for the expenses, <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjourned sine die. <br />
