Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the Landfill Department <br />.be authorized to prepare specification and'to advertise for bidss',for the acquisition <br />of a three-quarter tonpick up truck. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the <br />motion and upon a` vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman announ ed that the Board-was to•appoint-two persons tofu <br />the CETA advisory Board. ; The Board requested that guidelines be obtained fromthe <br />consortium headquarters before the appointments were made. ' . F. <br />It was reported that the Region J Emergency Medical Service Board <br />needed to have an alternate representative appointed from Lee County. Commissioner <br />Dotterer was requested to look into the matter and report his findings'tolthe Board: " <br />The Chairman•reporte'd the Board has received $5; 012.00 in anti- <br />recession funds which needed to be appropriated. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker <br />moved that the budget be amended by appropriating the sum of $5, 012. 00 to the <br />.Landfill Fund for salaries. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that Dr. J; M. McKinnon be <br />appointed rabies inspector to carry out the provisions of General Statutes 106-364 <br />through'106-387. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and - <br />upon a vote it'was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported that he had 'receive'd a <br />proposed contract for the use of the Wake.County detention facilities for juveniles. <br />The contract was referred to the, Committee which had been previously appointed <br />to study the problems of juveniles fortheir recommendations. <br />The Board next took up for consideration the question of tax mapping. <br />After an extended. discussion, Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved to appropriate <br />$5i 500. 00 from the Emergency and Contingency. Fund to the Tax Supervisor's Fund <br />,for.the purpose of contracting with Landmark Associates, Cary, North-.Carolina, <br />for-making aerial photographs and developing the film for storage on that part of <br />the County as is set forth in the. Company's proposal. Commissioner Franklin D. <br />Wicker seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Messrs,<Dotterer, Rhyne, <br />F. Wicker and Cooper voted for it and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted <br />against it. . <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjourned sine die.
