Mr. Buchanan explained *that $25, 000.•00,frorn the Community <br />Development budget would be used as matching-funds and $2, 250. 00 from the <br />Community, Development budget would be used 'for administrative expenses and <br />the remaining-funds for-the work would come from the Title_XX Grant-received by <br />the Triangle J Council of Governments. .Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon-A'. <br />Wicker,' sec onded by~'Commissioner John-E.,Dotterer,`the Chairman was authorized <br />to execute the_ agreement on behalf of the County to carry out the Rehabilitation <br />Program.. The vote 'in favor of adopting the motion was unanimous] <br />Commissioner Rhyne reported on the costs `of meals at-the jail as <br />had been requested at the previous meeting;of the Board.' <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported. on the Courthouse improve- <br />ments and on the'plan,for the construction of prisoner, holding rooms,; <br />The Chairman'reported, that the Airport authority was making an., <br />application for .a grant and needed a letterof intent whereby, they would be assured <br />that the. County would contribute.$40, 000. 00 in local'funds in the event the grant <br />`application was approved. Upon motion of. Commissioner Rhyne, seconded by <br />Commissioner.Dotterer,,which motion was unanimously adopted, it was resolved <br />to,authorize the Chairman to`execute. on behalf. of the Board such-a letter of intent. <br />Chairman reported-'tha't the city had conducted a bid-letting for the <br />construction of the waterline to; the Airportand that the ,low bid was submitted <br />by Blue Contracting Company, . in. the amount of $18, 249:00.' and that the County's <br />share would be $9$ 124. 50, . Upon,motion'of Commissioner `Franklin D. Wicker, <br />seconded,by Commissioner Clyde` J.-Rhyne,.which motion was unanimously adopted, <br />it was resolved to, authorize the. Airport Authority to accept the low k id and to enter <br />into a contract with Blue Contracting Company for the 'ilistallation of'~said'water'line <br />Upon,:motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which, motion was.unanimously adopted, upon ,3t. <br />a •roll call vote, 'it was authorized to. appropriate the sum of $200. 00 for the purpose <br />of advertising Lee County through the efforts of the Sanford-Tobacco Market. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon Ai Wicker, seconded by <br />Commissioner Clyde, J-. Rhyne, which motion was unanimously-adopted upon a roll <br />call vote, -it was resolved to-appropriate the sum-of $184.75, from the unappropriated <br />surplus in the General.Fund for the purpose of-purchasing brochures on Lee County- <br />from Hill Directory', for use in promoting Lee 'County. <br />The Board next considered Senate Bill No.- 155 which would allow . <br />local Boards of Alcoholic Control to enter into interlocal agreements which had " <br />been introduced at the request of the local ABC Board; After discussion and <br />consideration, Commissioner,Rhyne moved that the Board goon record as opposing <br />
