WICKER CIVIC CENTER <br />1801 NASH STREET <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />FEBRUARY 10, 2014 <br />The joint meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, and the Central Carolina Community College Board of Trustees, convened at 12 noon <br />at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commissioners present were Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. Andre Knecht, Charles T. Parks, and Kirk D. <br />Smith. Commissioner's Amy M. Dalrymple, Robert T. Reives, and James K. Womack were absent. <br />Staff in attendance included County Manager John Crumpton, Assistant County Manager /Finance <br />Director Lisa Minter, MPA Intern Michael James, Legal Support Kerry Schmid, and Clerk to the Board <br />Gaynell Lee. <br />Chet Mann, Chairman of the Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) Finance Committee <br />welcomed everyone and opened the meeting on behalf of the CCCC Board of Trustees. <br />Chairman Charles Parks opened the meeting on behalf of the Board of Commissioners. <br />Mr. Mann stated the main purpose of the meeting was to discuss a Resolution adopted by the <br />CCCC Board of Trustees in April 2013 addressing the five (5) following capital projects totaling $23 <br />million: <br />1 — New Construction of a Health Science Building <br />$9 million <br />2 — Expansion and Renovation to the Veterinary <br />Medical Technology Program <br />$5 million <br />3 — Expansion and Renovation to the Dennis A. <br />Wicker Civic Center <br />$4 million <br />4 — Repair and Renovations to the Main Sanford <br />Campus and Emergency Services Training <br />Center <br />$4 million <br />5 — Renovation to the Business Incubator located <br />at 130 Steele Street, Sanford <br />$1 million <br />The Resolution presented requested the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee to provide <br />necessary funds for the purpose of paying the cost of Central Carolina Community College facilities and <br />asking that the matter be placed on the November referendum for approval of the citizens. A copy of <br />said Resolution is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />
