B. <br />_ Information <br />Meeting Date: October 5, 2009 Action Item <br />XX Consent Agenda <br />1°J <br />SUBJECT: Contracts for H1 N1 Budget <br />DEPARTMENT: Lee County Health Department <br />CONTACT PERSON: Howard Surface, Health Director <br />REQUEST: The Board of Commissioners is asked to approve 3 contracts, the <br />new H1 N1 budget, and $31,395 of new revenue to the Health Department. <br />SUMMARY: #848: Contract 1: $54,200 will allow the Health Department to <br />rapidly detect and respond to the second outbreak of H1 N1 expected in the fall of 2009. #849: <br />Contract 2: $5,800 will allow the Health Department to continue the same efforts as Contract # <br />848 above. # Contract 3: Anticipated amount of approximately $60,000, same effort as <br />#848 and #849 but will also allow the hiring of temporary, part-time vaccinators and other needed <br />personnel for clinics and the community response for H1N1. Expenses will match revenues as <br />the $60,000 is an estimate. #514: Contract 4: Additional revenue in the amount of $31,395 <br />awarded by the State for the original Bioterrorism Agreement Addenda. Some of this revenue will <br />be used to help support the H1 N1 activity. <br />BUDGET IMPACT: $45,000 previously approved. Anticipated total amount that needs <br />approval is somewhere in the range of $120,000, which is an additional amount of approximately <br />$75,000. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): (1) Contract #1 - $54,200.00, (2) Contract #2 - $5,800.00, (3) <br />Contract #4 - $31,395.00, and (4) Proposed H1 N1 Expenditures <br />PUBLIC HEARING: No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: The Board of Health and Commissioners previously approved <br />approximately $45,000 in State and Federal monies; that money is part of the recommendation, <br />as well as additional money expected. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve Contracts as presented. <br />
