GG
•
9) Who Else is available to provide vaccine? Local Doctor's offices,
community health centers, the hospital, any closed POD (Point of
Distribution). We do not know at this time how much demand there will be
from other providers to distribute the HIN1. How many people might we see
on average every day? On an average day, we could see up to 1,600 people.
However, that is probably too high an estimate; given that other offices will
give vaccines, and that the Health Department itself will conduct a few closed
"PODS" (Sheriff's Department, Jail, City of Sanford Police Department,
Health Care workers, the Office of the Courts) and because some citizens will
refuse it, numbers per day for 75 days should be less. This Health Director
guesstimates between 25 -50% or 400- 800 / day. In 1976 the swine 111_1
outbreak showed 40,000,000 people vaccinated against a US population of
about 218,000,000 or about 18%. If 18% of Lee County citizens took the
vaccine, this would have us giving about 11,000 citizens 2 shots each or a
total of 22,000 vaccinations.
10) What costs are not covered under this campaign'?:
a)
Costs of Lec County employees acting as volunteers;
b)
Transportation by COLTS;
c)
Parking services;
d)
Use of some IT services which may be needed to fine tune paperwork,
extra computers and memory. fliQh priority
e)
Storage costs for the 120,000 doses of H IN 1; it is anticipated that we will
have donated storage space worth about $9,000.00.
I)
Use of hazardous waste barrels from general services and daily removal of
such. Hieh priority
g)
Extra cleaning by general services staff of both the building and the
parking lot over the designated 75 days; Hieh priority
h)
Broken down elevator. Flif h priority
These may be provided if we receive any additional state money and
or/county money-
0
