66-13
n
4)
Start Date: Campaign should start on/about 10/19/09 and complete
sometime during February, 2010. (This is still very tentative) The
Department will offer vaccine during about 70 + days during this time period:
Tuesday through Saturday. Sundays, Holidays and weekends around holidays
are excluded. Mondays are for closed PODS (Sheriffs Department; etc.). If
this date (10/19/09) does not work out as a start date, then the program will
begin about a week after the vaccine delivery.
5)
Location: For the most part vaccine will be given at 106 Hillcrest; there
will be a few offsite clinics (jail, courts, etc.). The cost estimate for setting
up/taking down portable clinic sites at multiple county sites, which could be
delivered by the I.,ee County Preparedness office, is $100.00/hour. To do this
the cost would be about $72.000 and this is cost prohibitive. (36 hours a week
X $100.00 hour X 20 weeks = $72000.00. This option has been ruled out.
6)
Hours of operation: Tuesday- Thursday and Saturday: 6 hours a day (1-7
PM on Tuesday and Thursday); (LOAM-4PM on Saturdays); Wednesday and
Friday: 3 hours a day (1-4 1'M). Mondays are external site delivery situations
only.
7)
Volunteerism should/could: Make this campaign highly effective and
there is a plan in place to use volunteers both administrative and clinical.
Administrative volunteers will be primarily county employees, paid thru their
regular department but assigned to 1-11 N I campaign duties as needed. 5
administrative volunteer persons per hour are needed. Clinic volunteers (RN /
LPN) are being sought out.
8)
Use of Health Department Staff: In order to accomplish this task
internally, staffof the Flealth Department are all being given a second
assignment with the H IN I campaign. Most services provided by this Health
Department will be decreased over this time period. Animal Control will
handle inventory; Environmental Health will assist in case management and
assist nurses, as needed with case finding, and carry emergency samples to
Raleigh. Health Education will visit high risk groups to pass out information.
etc. Office hours will change and sonic staff will work 4 day weeks, 10 hours
a day; some will work their normal 8 hours a day. All will participate in
Tuesday. Thursday evening clinics and work on Saturdays, other than the
WIC program.
0
