The inmate Labor Contract was revised
this year (2009) and now includes a clause which prohibits inmates from
working on school property, e.g., private or public elementary, middle or
high schools, while students are on the property. No sex offender inmate
will be assigned or allowed to work on the property of any educational
facility, e.g., private or public elementary, middle, high school,
community college or university, etc. This revision is noted on Page 2,
Part I (Logistics), Section F., of the labor contract. It should be noted that
this is the only change to the previous contract that was signed by your
office on June 1, 2009. There is no change in the contract amount.
The new Contract will have an effective date of July 1, 2009 and an end
date of June 30, 2010. I have spoken to Mr. Russell Spivey who oversees
the supervision of this project and we agreed that we would like to
continue the labor contract without interruption. We have established an
excellent working relationship with Lee County Operational Services and
the benefits are equally shared by both departments. If I can be of further
assistance or if you have any questions, please call me at (919) 776-4325
ext. 216.
Sincerely,
E
Van FnF Program Director I
Sanford Correctional Center
JUL 8 - 200,9„
