003 <br />• Minutes from the May 18, 2009 regular meeting, <br />• Renewal contract between the North Carolina Department of Correction and Lee County <br />for inmate labor for the Health Department (copy attached); <br />• Renewal contract between the North Carolina Department of Correction and Lee County <br />for inmate labor for General Services (copy attached), <br />• Rezoning request from Belinda Gail Dickens for property located on Broadway Road <br />(per attached); <br />• Text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance for overlay districts (per <br />attached); <br />• Text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance to permit social assistance, <br />welfare and charitable service uses within the Light Industrial (LI) zoning district (per <br />attached), <br />• Text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance for seasonal fresh produce <br />stands (copy attached), <br />• Text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance for free standing ice vending <br />machines (copy attached), <br />• Preliminary Plat for "CRD Investors" Subdivision to be located on Steel Bridge Road, <br />• Preliminary Plat for "Waterview Estates" Subdivision to be located on Steel Bridge Road, <br />and <br />• Budget Amendment # 06/01/09126 (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as f oiiows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Hayes, Kelly, Oldham Paschal, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion hadbeen adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives joined the meeting at this time. <br />Pursuant to North Carolina.General Stature 153A-52.1, Chairman Hayes opened the floor for <br />Public Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed three minutes: <br />• Rebekah Guinn, 233 Chris Cole Road, Sanford <br />• Katherine Guinn, 233 Chris Cole Road, Sanford <br />• Keith Clark, 233 Chris Cole Road, Sanford <br />Ms. Alice Beardslee from The Sanford Woman's Club completed the required paperwork to <br />appear before the Board and present a check in the amount of $3,635.00 to the County for the tinting of <br />windows at the Lee County Courthouse to protect an oil painting that was relocated during the <br />construction of the new Courthouse. The painting in question, Kinfolf of Virginia Dare, was originally <br />located in the Sanford Post Office and later moved to the Lee County Courthouse. Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to accept the donation of $3,635.00 from The Sanford Woman's Club for tinting of <br />windows to preserve the Kinfolf of Virginia Dare painting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Hayes, Kelly, Oldham, Paschal, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />• The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
