0(,
This would be a grant with the potential for up to $50,000 over a two year period which requires
no match from the local JCPC Board or Lee County. The assessment would be conducted by a
neutral third party contractor that has already been identified. The contract with the party doing
the assessment would indicate "based on the availability of funds from the grant". The services
that would be provided to enhance the G.R.E.A.T. program would likely be provided by the
Boys and Girls Club. The only investment the county would have would be in being responsible
for writing the monthly checks, on behalf of the JCPC Board, to the contractor doing the
assessment and possibly 3-4 checks during the course of the year to the contractor providing the
services.
The JCPC Board respectfully requests your permission to proceed with applying for this grant as
gang activity is here in our county and affecting the lives of our non-gang citizens. We also
recognize that such an assessment will provide a basis for the need for future grants, of a sizable
amount, for our community partners.
Cc: File
•
Lee County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
P.
